See you next fall! The CW renews its entire lineup of genre shows

The CW made a huge announcement today. They've renewed three shows for next season. First up, we have newcomer Arrow, which was a no-brainer. It's been a standout since its premiere last fall. The modernized take on the Green Arrow comic has proven to be a winner.

Next up, the oldie but goodie Supernatural. Sam and Dean will be back for a ninth season. The veteran's shown improvement since being bumped from Friday to Wednesdays. The one-two punch with Arrow is a bright spot on the CW schedule.

Last but not least, The Vampire Diaries will return for its fifth season. Even though The CW's hard at work on its spinoff The Originals, they still have faith in the series.

“We said last year that one of our goals was to establish building blocks to grow on, and now with our new hit Arrow and fan favorite Supernatural on Wednesday night, and the continued success of The Vampire Diaries on Thursday, we’ve been able to do that,” network president Mark Pedowitz said in a statement. “Not only do Arrow, Supernatural and The Vampire Diaries perform well on-air, they’re also extremely successful for us both digitally and socially. I’m thrilled to have all three shows returning to our schedule next season.”
