Steven Moffat reveals Matt Smith's Doctor IS the final Doctor on Who

Have any doubts left about Matt Smith’s Doctor? Well, Steven Moffat has revealed that Smith is indeed the final AND 13th Doctor.

According to the Doctor Who showrunner, Smith is already on his 13th and final incarnation of the beloved Mad Man in the Big Blue Police Box in the Doctor Who Xmas special, “The Time of the Doctor.”

The meta-crisis Doctor (you know, the part-human, part-Time Lord Tenth Doctor that was grown from Ten’s severed hand in "Journey’s End"--both played by David Tennant) and the War Doctor (John Hurt) regenerations mean that Matt Smith’s Doctor has now (*gasp*) used up all his lives.

Moffat told Radio Times:

“We’ll find out that Matt Smith is actually the 13th Doctor. Although everyone knows that the Doctor can only regenerate 12 times.
“The 12 regenerations limit is a central part of Doctor Who mythology – science fiction is all about rules, you can’t just casually break them.
“So if the Doctor can never change again, what’s Peter Capaldi doing in the Christmas Special?”

Just last month, Steven Moffat said: “The numbering stays exactly the same – and we call Peter Capaldi the Twelfth Doctor.”

So, are you confused much yet or is everything perfectly clear? How do you think Smith's Doctor will be able to regenerate into Peter Capaldi's Doctor? What sort of wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey stunt do you guys think Steven Moffat will pull?
