18 fun tweets about that Wonder Woman casting news from comics pros + more

Yesterday we found out that Wonder Woman is about to appear on the big screen, and the Internet -- as usual -- had a thing or two to say about it.

On Wednesday, Warner Bros. announced that Israeli actress Gal Gadot will be the very first feature-film incarnation of Wonder Woman, alongside Henry Cavill's Superman and Ben Affleck's Batman, in the upcoming Batman vs. Superman (officially untitled) film, establishing the classic DC Comics Trinity and setting the stage for future Justice League adventures.

Gadot's casting came after months (hell, years) of speculation over who might play the legendary Amazon warrior when she finally made it to the big screen, speculation that included everyone from Thor co-star Jaimie Alexander to former-MMA-fighter-turned-action-movie-star Gina Carano. We've had a lot of time to think about this, and that means reactions to the casting announcement, as well as the announcement that Wonder Woman would appear at all, were both mixed and very, very loud.

So, because we just can't resist combing the internet for humorous, bizarre and actually insightful reactions to the biggest sci-fi news out there, we've gathered more than a dozen of our favorite tweets reacting to the Wonder Woman news. Check them out in the gallery below, and see who you agree with.
