You'll either cringe at or fall in love with woman with REAL elf ears

Sometimes a simple prosthesis just isn't going to cut it. Literally.

Ontario resident and alternative model Melynda Moon has an intense love for The Legend of Zelda. She also knows a bit about speaking one of Tolkien's elf languages, Sindarin, and has an appreciation for the Lord of the Rings Elven style.

Add all of that together and you get someone who's willing to go a pretty long way to show off her fan love. Ear pointing is an elective surgery, where flesh around the ear is skinned, a triangular piece is removed, and the whole thing is sutured together. About a month (and a whole lot of of itchiness) later, Moon became a bona fide Hylian. Or is that Hyrulian? Either way, she looks like an elf, and a pretty darn convincing one, too.

The procedure will apparently only set you back about $408. So if it's the Elvish look you're after, this seems like a pretty viable avenue to make your dreams come true.

In a fun little holiday postscript to this particular body mod, Moon explains, "Some people like to tell their kids to stop being bad because they know an elf will tell Santa they're being bad. Then their children see my ears and realize their parents aren't joking."

Take a look at the gallery below for some before-and-after photos, as well as a video in which Moon explains the process. And check out her latest body mod -- a subdermal implant of the triforce in her hand!
