Game of Thrones star could be villain (or hero) in Batman vs. Superman

Another Batman vs. Superman casting report has arrived, but would this genre star be friend or foe to the Man of Steel and the Caped Crusader?

Zack Snyder's followup to Man of Steel is looking more and more crowded every day. First, Batman joined in the form of Ben Affleck. Then, just last week, Wonder Woman joined in the form of Fast and the Furious franchise star Gal Gadot. Then there are those persistent rumors of Nightwing popping up, and the flick still doesn't have a confirmed villain. When will this film stop adding characters?

Apparently, not yet. The Hollywood Reporter has sources claiming that Jason Momoa, who played Khal Drogo in the first season of Game of Thrones and the title character in the 2011 Conan the Barbarian reboot, is "in negotiations to join the cast" of the still officially untitled flick. That's interesting news, but the big question is: Who would he play?

While we can probably, in Momoa's case, safely rule out characters like Lex Luthor and Mr. Mxyzptlk (OK, so we can probably rule that character out altogether, but I sure did have fun typing his name), there are plenty of other possibilities, and THR has some of its own ideas. The first name thrown out: Doomsday, the Kryptonian killing machine who took out Superman back in 1992 and has been terrorizing the DC universe in various ways ever since. Momoa's definitely got the physique to transform into a bruiser like Doomsday, but there could be an even more intriguing casting possibility. One of THR's sources had the idea that, since Snyder's flick has already put together DC Comics' Superman/Batman/Wonder Woman Trinity, it might also be set to add other members of the Justice League, and if that's the case, Momoa could be perfect for the role of Martian Manhunter, the muscled, shapeshifting alien who's often been a leading member of the League in the comics. That's a very interesting idea, particularly because it carries with it the implication that, if one supporting Justice League character shows up, more would follow.

But of course, neither of those characters is confirmed at this point, so maybe the casting possibilities don't stop there. What if Momoa were playing Metallo, or a new, non-blond version of Aquaman? At this point, anything seems possible with this flick.

What do you think? If Momoa's on board, who's he playing?
