Little-known sci-fi fact: Wait ... THAT guy composed the original Ninja Turtles theme song?

At this point, pretty much everyone knows the theme tune to the '90s Ninja Turtles cartoon, but not everyone knows who wrote it.

They're the world's most fearsome fighing teens. They're heroes in a half shell, and they're green. They're also some of the most beloved comic and cartoon characters of all time. But the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles might never have gotten as big as they did if not for the infectious theme song that opened each episode of the '90s TV incarnation of the characters.

That song was written by Big Bang Theory show runner Chuck Lorre.

Yes, really.

Lorre is easily one of the most prolific (and divisive) TV writers of the last 15 years. In addition to Big Bang, he's also responsible for Dharma and Greg, Mike and Molly, Two and a Half Men and now Mom.

And on top of that, he also co-wrote this with Dennis Challen Brown.

So he either started strong or peaked early. Either way, consider your mind blown.
