Is World War Z author set to bring ANOTHER zombie show to TV?

Are you sick of new zombie shows yet? No? Good, because Max Brooks might be preparing to throw another one at you.

The undead are building a serious horde in the television realm these days. The Walking Dead continues to shatter ratings with its fourth season, and it's already got a season-five renewal and a spinoff series set in the same universe on the way. Meanwhile, acclaimed international series like the U.K.'s In The Flesh and France's The Returned are also coming back for more next year. Now it seems the acclaimed author of World War Z and The Zombie Survival Guide might be bringing his own take on a zombie epidemic to television, but with a twist.

Bleeding Cool's Rich Johnston reports that "one of the most successful production companies in Hollywood" is "currently in the process" of making a deal that would bring Brooks' new Avatar Press comic-book series, The Extinction Parade, to your living room. Based on an earlier short story by Brooks, the series tells the usual tale of a zombie uprising devouring mankind, but then adds in an extra twist with the vampire race, who realize that the zombies are killing off all their blood-filled food, and go to war with the walking dead themselves in an effort to preserve both humanity's existence and their own. So take all the survival instinct of The Walking Dead, throw in vampires, and you could have TV's next big horror hit.

Of course, we don't know yet what company has picked up Brooks' series (or if there's even a done deal), what network the show might eventually be on, who'll write it, who'll start in it, or anything else, but as hot as zombies on television are right now, it seems hard to believe someone wouldn't be interested in trying The Extinction Parade in that medium. What do you think? Would you watch this show?
