Batman's not enough: Affleck lines up ANOTHER DC comic film project

It seems Batman vs. Superman won’t be the only upcoming DC film for Ben Affleck — and he’s bringing his pal Matt Damon along this time.

Affleck and Damon have signed on to produce the long-gestating flick Sleeper, based on the DC/Vertigo comic of the same name. The comic, created by Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips and launched in 2003, follows a man with the ability to absorb pain. He is then tasked with infiltrating a nefarious organization, which leads to a twisty, sexy tale.

Accomplished writers Shawn Ryan (The Shield, Last Resort) and David Wiener (The Killing, Last Resort) have been hired to work up the script. No actors have been announced for the project, and it’s unknown whether Affleck or Damon might star in the film.

The director’s gig is also open at the moment, but you’d have to think that if Affleck (Argo, The Town) enjoys his experience on Batman vs. Superman, he might be interested in stepping back behind the camera for Sleeper.

Here’s hoping the project actually happens this time, because it’s not the first time a studio has tried to get it off the ground. Sam Raimi tried to get the film rolling in 2008 with Tom Cruise attached to star, but even their combined star power couldn’t make it happen.

Are you glad to hear this one is (apparently) out of development hell this time around?
