Moon director Duncan Jones shared some awesome new concept art for that upcoming Warcraft flick. Wanna have a look?
The new concept art was shown off during this weekend’s annual Blizzcon. With the movie on track for a 2015 release, Jones popped up to introduce some new concept art to the throng of Warcraft, StarCraft and Blizzard Entertainment fans as well as share his ideas for the upcoming fantasy film.
While discussing the flick—which is based on World of Warcraft, one of the most successful videogame franchises ever— Jones explained that he wanted to bring a balance to the screenplay that is much more human-centric. “It's about both sides,” Jones said. “It's going to be red and blue.”
Duncan Jones—who brought along some of his crew, including Bill Westenhofer (who is the movie’s special effects supervisor and a massive fan of the game)—also explained that most of the Orcs will be created by using actors in makeup instead of CGI as well as enormous, massive swords: the biggest someone can actually wield.
Shooting will begin in Vancouver (standing in for the world of Azeroth) early next year, with a release date of Dec. 18, 2015, rather conveniently filling the vacant fantasy-flick-of-the-year spot that will have been left by the last Hobbit film the year before.
Take a look at the concept art below and let us know what you think. Do you think Warcraft is in good hands?
