The new season of NBC’s Revolution introduced a boatload of new mysteries to replace the old ones — and now we have some tantalizing details on two of the biggest.
While Aaron’s (Zak Orth) resurrection is one of the biggest questions still lingering out there, the first two episodes also dropped a few more into the mix — namely that mountain of dead rats, and the mysterious red door at the prisoner camp.
As for the rats?
Producer Eric Kripke says that weirdness related back to a much bigger answer, which is connected to the events at the Tower last season and the effects of screwing around with the nanotech that turned the lights off to begin with. Even stranger? Those dead rodents are also connected to Aaron’s creepy vision of Ben:
“It’s all part of the mystery of what happened with the nanotech, what happened in the tower and ‘How did our heroes in effect change the laws of physics?’ Fireflies are a part of it, rats are a part of it, and the vision that Aaron saw of Ben is a part of it.”
The red door
Fans have also been wondering what the heck is going on with that red door at the prisoner camp where Miles (Billy Burke) is being held, where everyone who goes in never comes out. Last we saw, we got a peek at a sick woman during last week’s cliffhanger. Here’s how Burke describes the room’s purpose:
“Titus has started this whole movement for a very selfish reason. I can’t reveal what that reason is, but he’s using not only the people that he’s fighting against but the people within his own hordes, for this nefarious purpose.”
Unlike some of J.J. Abrams’ previous shows, Revolution became well-known for firing out answers fast and furious during season one. So here’s hoping we won’t have to wait too long to figure out these new ones.
How do you think these questions will play out?
