The CW prepping new ghost-battling supernatural western series

With everything from The Originals to Supernatural already on the schedule, The CW is doubling down with yet another supernatural-styled series on the way.

Dubbed Badlands, the network is eyeing a script order for a new project that is described as a “supernatural Western about a ruthless family cursed by vengeful ghosts.” This being The CW, we’d also think they’ll be young and good-looking.

The series is being developed by 666 Park Avenue creator David Wilcox, along with a new legal thriller he’s prepping at ABC. The short-lived 666 Park Avenue was a solid genre series, and it’d be interesting to see what Wilcox could do with the pitch.

The supernatural genre has been a sweet spot for the network, and this one could potentially join that upcoming Supernatural spinoff that is rolling through development. The network hasn’t done a ton with period-set genre stuff, so this could be an interesting twist.

What do you think? Would you like to see this series make it through development?
