REVEALED! Episode details leak for newly-recovered Doctor Who serials

We’ve been hearing for a while now that the BBC had recovered some previously lost Doctor Who episodes that would be re-released for the 50th anniversary — and now we finally know what they are.

The BBC is expected to make an announcement soon, though the information has been embargoed up to this point. Luckily, it didn’t stay embargoed for long, and someone has now leaked the two long-lost Doctor Who serials that will soon be made available for public consumption.

The recovered episodes include the fifth-season serials “The Enemy of the World” and “Web of Fear,” which both aired between 1967-1968 on the BBC. The stories star second Doctor Patrick Troughton as he faces off against an evil doppelganger, yetis and the Great Intelligence.

According to a report at Ain’t It Cool News, the recovered content includes five episodes from the “Enemy of the World” serial and four episodes of “Web of Fear.”

The tapes were reportedly unearthed by scouring overseas shipping records of tapes made by the BBC, and those discovered copies have now been remastered for release. More details should be announced soon, but at least now we know what to expect.

So get ready for some Who binging as we head into the home stretch for the 50th-anniversary special, which will be simulcast on Nov. 23.
