1st trailer for Eli Roth's new Netflix horror series Hemlock Grove

Though most edgy new series are relegated to cable these days, horror auteur Eli Roth's new project Hemlock Grove is skipping the TV system entirely and heading straight to Netflix. Want to see the first creepy, sexy trailer?

Roth (Cabin Fever, Hostel) has a cult following for his unique style of scary, and Hemlock Grove looks like a worthy addition to his canon. Based on Brian McGreevy's novel of the same name, the 13-episode series stars Famke Janssen (X-Men), Bill Skarsgard (Simon & The Oaks), Landon Liboiron (Terra Nova) and a few others.

Here's the official synopsis:

The series revolves around the eccentric residents of a dilapidated former Pennsylvania steel town and the murder of 17-year-old Brooke Bluebell. Through the investigation, the town's seamier side is exposed, revealing that nothing is what it seems.
Not content merely to air other networks' TV shows anymore, Netflix is making a push this year to become an outlet for exclusive quality programming in its own right, and Hemlock Grove is among the first wave of that effort. The company is also developing a new season of cult fave sitcom Arrested Development, as well as a political drama dubbed House of Cards.

Here's the trailer:

The entire 13-episode run of Hemlock Grove is scheduled to go live to stream on April 19. Do you plan on checking it out?
