Fan's Star Wars Into Darkness trailer makes us giddy for Abrams

So you've had a minute to take in the fact that J.J. Abrams is taking the reins on Star Wars, and you're still feeling manic.  This little video might help.

Online critic Ross Thompson took a bit of time to reimagine the Star Trek Into Darkness, trailer and he did so by using scenes from the original Star Wars trilogy.  The result is a fascinating look at how those movies would have been marketed had they come out today.  More than that, though, the faux trailer also gives us the tiniest hint of the direction in which Abrams could take the franchise.

Check it out.

Honestly, it got us really jazzed at the notion of seeing what Abrams will do. Nervous still, of course, but definitely leaning toward excited. If nothing else, the trailer is very cool.
