Meet a whole new gang in 1st spooky Being Human UK S5 trailer

Coming into its fifth season, the BBC version of Being Human is making some major changes—and the first new trailer shows off the mostly new cast and wild new plot lines in the work.

The series was a surprise hit (spawning an equally successful U.S. remake on Syfy), though cast shakeups and creative struggles have made it a tumultuous run the past few seasons. In an attempt to right the ship, the cast has been revamped with new and returning characters, and the supernatural storylines are being recharged. For fans of the original season or two, it looks almost like a completely different show.

Being Human has survived longer than most British series, which typically favor a shorter run. With so many new faces coming to the forefront, you have to wonder if it’ll be a make-or-break year to see if the writers can breathe some new life into the supernatural tale.

Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think:

The series returns in the U.K. on Sunday, Feb. 3, on BBC 3. Still no word on when the new season will debut in the U.S.
