Check out 1st terrifying trailer for found-footage sequel S-VHS

Horror flick VHS combined classic horror vignettes with the modern aesthetic that is the found-footage genre. It did all of that with a VHS tape acting as a kind of centerpiece, a means of connecting all the stories with one overarching tale. Now the gang is back with a sequel, titled S-VHS, and we've got the first teaser trailer.

There's a kind of marriage between VHS as a format and the horror genre. Even now, some B-grade horror films will specifically release their movie on VHS as a special edition for collectors. Plus, there are many out-there fright-fests that never made the transition to DVD, and so VHS becomes the only option.

VHS, the movie, paid homage to those hardcore collectors who sift through piles of old tapes at any flea market they can find. It was a pretty fun experiment, so we're excited that they'll be debuting their sequel at Sundance this year.

In the meantime, though, we've got this trailer. Check it out and see if it gives you the urge to dig up some old VHS tapes of your own.
