Thor star thinks failed Wonder Woman pilot was 'embarrassing'

Great female superheroes are few and far between. Arguably the most famous of the bunch is Wonder Woman. Unfortunately, she's never made it to theaters and her TV shows have been more camp than competent. One actress is fed up with the watered-down versions of the character.

Jaimie Alexander, who plays Sif in the Thor films, is a huge comic book fan. She was one of many actresses who wanted to bring Wonder Woman to life, but has since changed her tune. "I used to be [interested], but then I've seen how many failed attempts there have been in making it," Alexander said. "It's embarrassing for me as a woman, seeing what they did with that TV show."

After seeing the pilot, the actress was shocked by the lack of respect for the character. The overall vision seemed misogynistic. "You have very few female superheroes dominating films these days, unless they're in a skin-tight outfit and their boobs are pushed up to their chin. It's not okay," she said. "All she does is sit and eat ice cream while she's crying over a boy. I know that never aired, but that's what the script said."

Alexander thinks Wonder Woman should take notes from Alias' Sydney Bristow. "That was a fantastic show. Why can't we do that? Why does she have to be in hot pants and spandex? I get it, it's visually stunning for half of the people, but at least make her grow a pair!"
