Man of Steel's trying to make a name for itself. That means avoiding cliches and creating its own standout moments. Zack Snyder's Superman won't be a carbon copy of Richard Donner's—so don't be surprised if it doesn't pay homage to its predecessors.
Michael Shannon, who plays General Zod, recently appeared on Big Morning Buzz Live. During the interview, he revealed some devastating news. His version of the villain won't utter those fateful words: "Kneel before Zod." The actor confessed, "I don't say that in the movie."
We're hoping this is a misdirect to keep fans on their toes. The line is so synonymous with the character. But Snyder's made it pretty clear that they're revamping the franchise. New actors, new music, maybe even new catchphrases?
Watch Shannon's interview below. The Zod talk begins at the 1:08 mark.
