Looks like 2 dead sci-fi shows will get proper finales after all

You're in luck, Last Resort and 666 Park Avenue fans. We're far enough into the new season that freshman shows are starting to drop like flies, but at least these two recent casualties at ABC will be able to wrap things up with a proper finale.

The producers of both meh-rated and now-canceled series have confirmed they have enough lead time from ABC to rewrite the final episodes to provide some resolution to their respective story lines. Though it's never fun to see a beloved series bite the dust, V, Flashforward, etc. fans can all attest that a rushed ending is better than no ending at all.

Last Resort creator Shawn Ryan told TV Line they definitely "have time to tweak" the 13th episode of the show so it can serve as a proper series finale, providing some resolution to the dense conspiracy plot surrounding a nuclear submarine gone rogue.

As for 666 Park Avenue, producers David Wilcox and Matt Miller say the guilty pleasure about a haunted apartment building will answer all those dangling questions once the final scene wraps:

"[The show] is building to a powerful and surprising series finale, where all your questions will be answered. We hope fans of the show continue watching all the way to the end of Jane and Henry's incredible journey to the dark side."
Both series performed well but not great in their respective timeslots, with Last Resort pulling in average numbers on a super-competitive Thursday night. 666 Park Avenue's live stats were never very good, but viewership was pretty solid after averaging in DVR numbers. Sadly, those don't count nearly as much as same-night eyeballs.

Regardless, it's nice to know that fans can look forward to some type of payoff for their loyalty.

What do you think? Which canceled series has left you hanging the most over the years?
