'Devastated' actress from failed pilot still hopes to play Wonder Woman

Actress Adrianne Palicki, who starred as the Amazon Princess on that infamously failed NBC Wonder Woman TV pilot from David E. Kelley, wants another shot at playing Princess Diana. Yep, she does.

Speaking to Collider, the Red Dawn and G.I. Joe: Retaliation actress said about the failed NBC pilot:

"I was devastated. Believe me, I was inconsolable for a good two months.

"And then, I had to realise that I had a Wonder Woman costume fitted for my body. I got to play that part on film. Not many people get to say that, and that's cool."

Right now, there's a Wonder Woman movie that's supposed to be in development as of this past June, with Michael Goldenberg (Green Lantern) attached as scribe for the film.

The CW is also working on another TV pilot based on DC Comics' most famous comic-book heroine.

Palicki said:

"Maybe I'll get to [play the character] again, in a bigger arena. Who knows?"

If you guys will recall, once upon a time Avengers director Joss Whedon was attached to write and direct a Wonder Woman movie, but the whole thing also sadly fell through.

Back in September, Whedon spoke out against the NBC Wonder Woman pilot, saying that Kelley was a poor choice as showrunner:

"I don't think that he needs to write about superheroes. You need to need to write about superheroes to write about superheroes. If that's not in your vernacular, you may bring something new and interesting to it, but at the end of the day, if you don't have that burning desire to talk about these people who have these insane powers, then some other agenda is going to come forward."

We've got to admit that Whedon totally has a point and it's probably one of the many, many reasons (*cough* that awful costume for one *cough*) why Kelley's Wonder Woman failed so miserably.

So, do you think Palicki should get another shot at playing Wonder Woman? Or should the actress hang up her magic lasso for good?
