Del Toro responds to Justice League/Heaven Sent DC movie rumors

The rumor mill has been swirling that Guillermo del Toro (Hellboy, Pan's Labyrinth) is high on DC's radar to tackle some of their big-time properties—and now the man himself has responded to the buzz. So what does Del Toro think about it?

With his upcoming sci-fi flick Pacific Rim impressing those at the studio, Del Toro's name has been floated for everything from Justice League to some other potential standalone DC comic films.

Then, word broke last week that Del Toro could make his own DC-based super team via Heaven Sent, which would pull together several supernatural characters (i.e., Swamp Thing, Hellblazer, Deadman, etc.) from the company's canon.

It sounded awesome, and almost too good to be true. Then, The Daily Blam reported it was too good to be true, saying that Del Toro refuted the reports that he was being linked to another comic-based project.

Not so, says Del Toro. The director took to his own website to respond, saying that the Justice League rumors are bunk, but Heaven Sent remains an option.

Here's Del Toro's post:

"Wow- please contact whoever said I denied it. I cannot recall ever answering a question like that. Sadly I dont do tweeter. I denied being involved in JLA but ['Heaven Sent'] I would love to do!!!"
What do you think? Would you like to see the Hellboy steward tackle some even bigger heroes?
