Why some lucky Bigfoot hunter might earn a $10,000,000 bounty

People have been trying for decades to prove the existence of the tall, hairy beast known as Bigfoot. The public is still skeptical, but maybe the problem isn't that Bigfoot isn't real. Maybe the problem is that Bigfoot hunters just haven't had enough incentive yet. One cable network's now on a mission to change that, with a $10 million bounty.

Deadline reports that Spike TV has just put in a 10-episode order for a new reality series called, appropriately, $10 Million Dollar Bigfoot Bounty. The show will follow teams of Bigfoot hunters made up of zoologists, scientists, trackers and people who have made it their life's work to locate Sasquatch.

If the winning team can provide irrefutable proof (the "irrefutable" part will be determined by a team of "experts") that the creature exists, they will receive a $10 million prize underwritten by famed British insurance firm Lloyd's of London.

According to Spike's official website, each episode of the series will follow a different team in their quest to locate the beast, "often battling nature's inhospitable conditions."

So far, the official web page for the show has nothing more than a description, but if you think you've got what it takes to find a hairy monster that may or may not exist, keep checking back there for updates.
