Visit the set of Syfy's Defiance with 16 revealing new pics

After keeping the new sci-fi epic Defiance under wraps for months, Syfy has pulled back the curtain today by allowing press on set to check out the post-alien-invasion world.

Syfy exec Craig Engler was on hand, and has been tweeting a ton of pics showing off the battered alien-occupied Earth we'll be hanging out in once this series kicks off in April 2013.

First came the awesome new trailer, and now these set pics really set the expansive mood for a world that looks familiar—but not quite right.

Set in a world occupied by alien races, and focusing on both human and alien survivors, the project looks like a worthy follow-up from former Farscape creator Rockne S. O'Bannon.

Events will play out in both the television series and a massively multiplayer online role-playing game. If nothing else, the show looks to be a true feat of sci-fi world-building.
