MTV denies Teen Wolf actor's reports that he's out for S3

We have some bad news, Teen Wolf fans. It looks like a fan-favorite character could be gone next season, due to failed contract negotiations. So what's going on?

E! Online reports that actor Colton Haynes, who plays Jackson Whittemore, is out for next season despite a "lucrative" offer from the network to stick around. Apparently Haynes was holding out for a starring role in a pilot project and pushed the clock too far, so MTV had to move on.

To his credit, Haynes was gracious as he took to Twitter on the reports:

"These past few yrs have been the best of my life. I'm sad that this chapter has ended, but excited for a new one to begin. Thx for the love"
Scripts are already being written for season three, so the writers had to move on under the assumption that he wouldn't be back. But, that's not to say an 11th-hour deal couldn't be reached to bring him back later in the season.

As for MTV, they've put out a statement calling the report crap:

"Absolutely no truth that Colton is being pushed out or that he, or any cast member, is being replaced. We love Colton and look forward to his returning with the entire cast for Season 3 of Teen Wolf."
Honestly, this could all just be a negotiating tactic from the actor's camp trying to stir up some fan rage to pressure the network. Or it could be legit. Only time will tell.

What do you think? Will Haynes be back next year?
