Dracula's Dog + 8 more WTF movies about the Prince of Darkness
No Halloween season could be complete without a deserving nod to the Prince of Darkness. The count practically lives (or, well, dies) for the hallowed day. In honor of the fanged Wallachian Wonder, and for the 17th installment in our 31 Days of Halloween series, here are some of his more exotic and head-scratching films to feast on.
It's hard to keep a good bloodsucker down ... or out of the intoxicating limelight of the silver screen. Since Dracula's birth into literary legend in 1897 thanks to Irishman Bram Stoker, reeking of damp earth and supreme confidence, his charismatic persona has been ample grist for the movie mill, inspiring a sloppy mix of solemn classics and insane creative adaptations.
Whether sipping the red stuff in full evening attire or kicking ass in ancient China, there's no denying the dark dude's got style. Here are nine of his more dubious outings, featuring kung-fu masters, Old West gunfighters and one really pissed-off pooch.
So impale yourself on these sweet and sour vampire oddities. You'll be Vlad you did.

THE 7 BROTHERS MEET DRACULA (1974)
Also known as Legend Of The 7 Golden Vampires, this gem has Van Helsing and Chinese villagers kicking some vampire ass when the seventh moon rises. Hammer horror meets chop-socky shlock.
BONNIE AND CLYDE VERSUS DRACULA (2008)
Bank robbers, Tommy guns and thirsty vampires during Prohibition America make a tempting trio. Have a drink and don't worry about those wooden crosses.
DRACULA'S DOG (1978)
Russian soldiers accidentally unearth Dracula and his beloved vampire pet. Zoltan the undead hound wakes up with a bad attitude and a serious taste for terriers.
LAKE OF DRACULA (1971)
Japan tosses their teeth into the vampire tale with a strange Euro-Asian flair in a tiny lakeside town. Is that Godzilla thudding over the horizon?
SON OF DRACULA (1974)
The world's first (and last) rock and roll vampire musical starring Harry Nilsson and Ringo Starr. A kooky mess with Dracula's offspring, Merlin the Magician and Baron Frankenstein doing some monstrously bad acting. Makes you miss Caveman.
DRACULA: DEAD AND LOVIN IT (1995)
Leslie Nielsen hams it up raw with enough bad Dracula jokes and puns to stuff a crumbling coffin with. Lots of bouncing cleavage and blood fountains to entertain the least discriminating horror fans.
GUESS WHAT HAPPENED TO COUNT DRACULA (1971)
Considered the worst Dracula movie ever made with frightening hairpieces, rubber bats and ample skin. Mostly filmed at Hollywood's Magic Castle, this trash will give you disco nightmares for a thousand cursed years.
MAMA DRACULA (1980)
The King Of Vampire's mommy is an old lady bathing in the blood of virgins. Starring Louise Fletcher, this painful horror comedy will leave you drained and cuckoo.
BILLY THE KID VS DRACULA (1966)
Released as a double feature with the equally awful Jesse James Meets Frankenstein's Daughter. Dracula hits the dusty trail with six-guns, rattlesnakes and saloons in a low-budget bite to the death.
