Peter Jackson's not the only director who wants a piece of Who

We're already salivating at the thought of Lord of the Rings' Peter Jackson directing an episode of Doctor Who, and now it seems another buzzy director wants to take a crack at the Time Lord. So who is it?

Looper director Rian Johnson has apparently always had a soft spot for Doctor Who, and spilled in a recent Reddit Ask Me Anything that he'd "kill" to get behind the camera sometime:

"But what I'd really kill to try, although it would be terrifying because I'm such a big fan of it? Doctor Who."
If anyone is qualified to take on the Doctor, it'd be Johnson, as he's already tackled the time-travel genre with Looper. Plus, his trademark grit would fit in well with Steven Moffat's interpretation of the Time Lord.

He's already proven he can do TV well by directing a few episodes of Breaking Bad and the criminally underrated Terriers, so we need to find a way to make this happen.

C'mon, BBC. How buzzy would an eighth season be with both Peter Jackson and Rian Johnson locked in to direct?

What do you think? Is Johnson a good fit for Who?
