Epic new trailer teases some of The Hobbit's most famous scenes

The brand new trailer for the first entry in Peter Jackson's The Hobbit trilogy—An Unexpected Journey—is out NOW. And color us impressed, because it's EPIC! Welcome back to Middle-earth, guys.

With plenty of new footage and our first cinematic look at Radagast the Brown (Sylvester McCoy), this new trailer has a lot ot offer. It's fairly whimsical but is also dark in tone, which gives it a definite Lord of the Rings vibe.

What's also interesting is that Jackson has chosen to show quite a few key scenes from the first half of the book including the famous ''Riddles in the Dark'' bit with Gollum (Andy Serkis) and Bilbo (Martin Freeman).

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey will be released in theatres on December 14, 2012; the second-part, The Desolation of Smaug, will come out on December 13, 2013; and the final film, There and Back Again, will open July 18, 2014.
