Deleted dinosaur scene has us liking Depp's Dark Shadows a lot more

Tim Burton's Dark Shadows may have been one of the bigger disappointments of the year, but that doesn't mean it's completely without charm, and if this deleted scene featuring Johnny Depp playing with toy dinosaurs had stayed in the flick, it would have been even better.

The clip features Depp's centuries-old vampire Barnabas Collins lying on a rug with the youngest member of the Collins clan, David (Gulliver McGrath). The pair are surrounded by dinosaur toys, and as the younger Collins drops knowledge on the older regarding what's been learned about the ancient creatures in the two centuries that Barnabas was sleeping, the immortal Collins begins pontificating on the history of his family and what has kept it from extinction.

What do you think? It wouldn't have saved the movie, but it might be better than anything else that wound up on the screen. For their next collaboration, Burton should take note: Johnny Depp + Toy Dinos = Magic.
