New Who video promises 'there will be tears" when the Ponds depart

The BBC just released a new video introducing us to ''The Angels Take Manhattan,'' the very last Doctor Who episode featuring the Ponds as the Doctor's companions, and believe us when we say that it's really, really bittersweet. In fact, it's so bittersweet, you may need some tissues right now.

Introduced by Doctor Who stars Matt Smith, Karen Gillan and Arthur Darville and by Doctor Who showrunner Steven Moffat and executive producer Caro Skinner, the new video deals with the departure of Gillan as Amy Pond and Darvill as Rory Williams from the show.

Annnd cue the very depressing music on top of it all.

The Ponds have been some of the Doctor's most faithful companions ever—it was even revealed in the last episode, ''The Power of Three,'' that they have been traveling with the Doctor for more than 10 years now.

Oh, that and the little fact that they ALSO happen to be the Doctor's in-laws as well. (He married their daughter, River Song [Alex Kingston], if you'll all recall.)

Have a look:

Are you now ready to let go of the Ponds?
