Ever since Battlestar Galactica ended on Syfy, Ronald D. Moore has had some pretty bad luck on the small screen. The pilot for his Fox series Virtuality was burned off as a TV movie, and his potential magical cop series The 17th Precinct stalled before it even made it to air at NBC. So now, he's going medieval at ABC.
Moore is rebooting the 2001 film A Knight's Tale, which starred a young Heath Ledger, as a series at ABC.
Judging by the synopsis, it seems the studio wants to stay pretty close to the original formula, following a young would-be knight with a score set to popular rock tunes.
Deadline describes it as:
"A medieval fantasy incorporating modern music and themes that follows the journey of a young man who starts out impersonating a knight of the realm and ends up becoming one."With series like Game of Thrones blowing up the Nielsen ratings, it could be the perfect time to launch a youth-focused take on the genre. Plus, with Moore at the helm, you know it should be good.
What do you think? Would you watch a series based on A Knight's Tale?
