The cast of American Horror Story is taking us inside the asylum. FX has released a behind-the-scenes featurette that teases the facility's darkest secrets. The patients aren't the only ones capable of heinous acts.
According to executive producer Dante Di Loreto, "This season of American Horror Story: Asylum is the sexiest, scariest thrill ride I have ever read." That's a lot to live up to, but the cast shares his opinion. The horror theme will move from the supernatural to the psychological, which is even more terrifying.
The asylum itself has a dark history. It was originally a tuberculosis ward, before being converted in 1964. Both the doctors and the patients are off their rockers, which makes it difficult to tell who's really a threat.
This season, actor Evan Peters gets a bad dose of karma. He's gone from perpetrator in season one to victim in season two. "I get beat up a lot on this show," says Peters. "It's different because instead of torturing other people, I'm the one being tortured."
