1st creepy/cheesy trailer for wild giant alien space spiders movie

Got bug problems? If so, we're sure it's nothing like these monstrous space arachnids biting the Big Apple. Watch this crazy-crawly teaser and have a tall can of Raid handy in case of emergency.

Colossal insects steppin' out in New York City is always a fun romp, and these ginormous bad bugs love to party. This Bulgaria-filmed creature feature flick looks pretty decent, considering its small budget and low-watt cast. (Well, it does star Rico rival Zander from Starship Troopers.)

It was directed with a wink and a nod to monster movies of yesteryear by Tibor Takacs, who delivered the 1987 cult horror film The Gate. Takacs also brought us the Syfy Channel kooky matinee originals Ice Spiders, Mega Snake and Mansquito.

Here's the official synopsis:

Following a crash of an old Soviet space station in New York City's subway tunnel, a new species of poisonous spiders is discovered. Inadvertently the spiders mutate to gigantic proportions and wreak havoc on the entire city.

Yikes. Some of those beasts put Harry Potter's old Aragog to shame. Spiders 3D stars Patrick Muldoon, Christa Campbell, William Hope and Jon Mack. No release date yet, but it should scuttle into theaters sometime in 2013.
