See 1st action-packed, dino-filled trailer for Primeval New World

The first trailer for that Canadian Primeval spinoff titled Primeval: New World is out now— and can you guess that it's filled with dinosaurs and anomalous goodness? Yep, yep it is.

The ''darker and scarier'' 13-part series was filmed in Vancouver—home to many hit sci-fi and genre series, such as all three Stargates and Supernatural, just to name a few, and will air in the U.K. on Watch in the autumn.

The series will introduce an "all new team ... of animal experts and scientists who investigate the appearance of temporal anomalies and battle both prehistoric and futuristic creatures."

As an awesome bonus, original Primeval cast member Andrew-Lee Potts will guest-star as Connor Temple for an unspecified number of episodes.

Have a look at the trailer!

Primeval: New World stars Niall Matter (Eureka), Sarah Canning (Vampire Diaries), Miranda Frigon (Heartland), Geoff Gustafson (Once Upon a Time) and Danny Rahim (Young James Herriot) and is set to air in late 2012 on Watch in the U.K. and SPACE in Canada. No news yet for a U.S. air date or which channel will air the series.

Do you guys think Primeval: New World has what it takes to be as fun as the original? Or does it look too serious to you?
