The future looks gorgeous in concept art for Wachowskis' Cloud Atlas

Up until recently, the Wachowskis managed to keep a lot of details about their epic, generation-spanning flick Cloud Atlas under wraps. But ever since the official trailer debuted, the floodgates have officially opened. Now an awesome piece of concept art has surfaced, showing just how gorgeous the future can be.

The hyper-detailed piece of concept material shows off an expansive future city that has a real shiny, retro-futurism vibe to it. If this is what the future looks like, I can't wait.

The piece was created by Monica Manganelli, a member of the film's art department, and comes from the "An Orison of Sonmi-451" section of the David Mitchell novel the film is based on.

This being the Wachowskis, the film is wildly ambitious, and weaves several narrative threads, dating back to the 1800s all the way to the post-apocalypse.

Cloud Atlas opens Oct. 26 and stars Halle Berry, Tom Hanks, Jim Broadbent and Hugo Weaving.
