George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire has been a well-regarded fantasy series of novels for years, but it wasn't until Game of Thrones made its way to television that it became the marketable juggernaut it is today. Hand-carved wood, hand-made bags, hand-made ... everything, really. It looks like it could actually be in the world of Game of Thrones. And isn't that what a board game should be at its essence—a gateway to another world?
