Torchwood's leading man joins Arrow—but as hero or villain?

We were already interested in The CW's Arrow, but now we're obsessed. The series has hired a sci-fi favorite to join its debut season. Oliver Queen will get a little help from a Torchwood veteran.

John Barrowman, who's appeared on both Doctor Who and Torchwood, is heading to Arrow. The actor has scored a recurring gig on the freshman series as "an acquaintance of the Queen family." His character's described as a "well-dressed man" who is "as mysterious as he is wealthy. With all that money and power, he's one of the most prominent figures in Starling City.

That being said, his name is a mystery. Over at EW, they suggested philanthropist Stanley Dover Sr. as a possibility. And according to his Wikipedia page, Dover's backstory does sound eerily similar. Take a look ...

A seemingly kindly, wealthy philanthropist that discovered a reborn Oliver Queen and offered him assistance in his mission as Green Arrow. However, Dover was in reality a demon-worshiper known to the public as the Star City Slayer that sought Queen's soulless body as a new vessel for himself.

Hmm, could he be the one? Your guess is as good as ours.
