We just saw a new trailer for a little "vigilante zombie" movie called The Revenant (which is coming out in limited release on Aug. 24), and we guarantee you that it'll hilariously gross you out—so you better stop eating that sandwich RIGHT NOW.
Described as a horror comedy, The Revenant tells the story of a (dead) soldier and his slacker best friend (remind you of a little movie called Shaun of the Dead? Yeah, they're going for that vibe) who become zombies and then use their newfound bloodsucking and undead abilities to become vigilante crime fighters. As the saying goes: With great undead powers come great undead responsibilities.
Of course, the two best friends' efforts lead to a series of hilarious mixed results.
Have a look!
Written and directed by acclaimed visual effects expert D. Kerry Prior (Phantasm franchise, Starship Troopers), The Revenant stars David Anders (Heroes, The Vampire Diaries) and Chris Wylde.
What do you guys think of the trailer? Did you get the whole Shaun of the Dead-meets-Zombieland vibe they're going for?
