7 new pics give 1st look at the cast of Fringe's final season

With Fringe's swan song season just a few weeks from kicking off, Fox has released the first set of cast photos for the series' final year. So who made the cut?

The new pics show off stalwarts John Noble (Walter), Joshua Jackson (Peter), Anna Torv (Olivia), Jasika Nicole (Astrid) and Lance Reddick (Broyles), with Blair Brown (Nina) tossed in for good measure.

No surprises there, except maybe who wasn't added. We've been hearing a lot about how the final season will dig into the world of 2036 we saw in the season-four episode "Letters of Transit," which featured Peter and Olivia's adult daughter Etta, played by Georgina Haig.

Knowing the level of secrecy J.J. Abrams and company like to keep around their projects, I can't say I'm shocked that they kept things close to the vest with these promo pics. But it'll be interesting to see who actually makes up the team once the new season kicks off Sept. 28.
