Captain Marvel: Until recently known as Ms. Marvel, Carol Danvers is the perfect blend of Tony Stark brashness and the army toughness of Captain America. Add to that her superhuman strength and the ability to fly, and youâve got a great character.
She Hulk: Jennifer Walters is a great contender for a movie. Sheâs got her own great take on the Hulk mythos, at first struggling with the transformation but deciding that sheâs actually better as the Hulk. Plus, she was breaking the fourth wall long before Deadpool even existed.
Yes, you read that right. The 1970s mutant disco queen deserves a movie. Why? Simple - cast a major pop star in the lead and let the film be campy fun. Donât believe us? Go into a comic book store and ask, âWhat pop star should play Dazzler in a movie?â and see how long the argument lasts. Even if itâs a train wreck, itâll go down in history as a cult favorite.
Fallen Angel: Peter David has written a lot of classic heroes, but this original character usually gets forgotten. That's a shame, because she's brilliant. She is, quite literally, a fallen angel, one who becomes the reluctant protector in a town that decides the fate of the world. The snake from the garden and a reformed Hitler as a bartender are only a small sampling of the characters in her story. She's broody, she's funny, and she packs a hell of a punch.
Batwoman: Considering the politics of the day, an army brat kicked out because sheâs gay who becomes a caped vigilante is almost a no-brainer. Add to that the blend of grim noir and the supernatural that Kate Kane brings to the character, and youâve got a film that will please even the most die-hard Batman fans.
Power Girl: Considering that the original Supergirl movie involved a parallel universe anyway, why not go whole hog and have the actual parallel Supergirl? Power Girl is the perfect blend of no-nonsense attitude and cheesecake camp. Karen Starr is rich like Bruce Wayne and Kryptonian-strong like Clark Kent, but sheâs a no-nonsense dame with a boob window and a cat. You canât beat that!
Wonder Woman: All right, sheâs the obvious, but wait for the pitch. Everyone wants to know how to make Wonder Woman work as a movie. Well, hereâs our take—rather than making it all Diana all the time, why not make it a buddy movie and have her share the spotlight with her sidekick in the comic, Etta Candy? Yes, itâll still have action; yes, Steve Trevor will still be there; and of course some Greek gods will turn up, but, at the heart of the film are Etta and Diana, and thatâs what will make it great.
