Grimm's Nick Burkhardt has been unlucky with the ladies. At the end of last season, his girlfriend slipped into a coma, while his mom returned from the dead. You'd think it would be the perfect time for some motherly love—but she may do more harm than good.
NBC has released a new behind-the-scenes featurette for Grimm season two. It gives us our first look at Nick and his mother's (Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio) unexpected reunion. She's an old-school Grimm who's stuck in her ways and doesn't mingle with the creatures she hunts. Therefore, she's more than shocked by her son's friendship with both Monroe (a Wieder Blutbad) and Rosalee (a Fuchsbau).
Aside from that, Nick has still has to deal with Juliette's health crisis. After being scratched by Adalind's demon cat, she'll never be the same. Also, his partner Hank is one step shy of a nervous breakdown. He's convinced monsters are real, but Nick continues to pacify his theories. In the end, will that help or harm his friend?
