So what's the latest on Jessica Biel's flirtation with Wolverine?

First we heard she was definitely in, then we heard it was too soon to say anything, and now it looks like the whole thing was a false alarm. After a week of rumors that she'd be joining the cast of James Mangold's The Wolverine as Viper, Jessica Biel's no longer tied to the flick.

Word that Biel is no longer a contender for the role comes from Collider, whose sources have told them that "talks have broken down" between Biel and The Wolverine's studio, Twentieth Century Fox. The studio's already after other actresses.

News that Biel would be playing the Marvel Comics villainess, whose past with Wolverine includes a time when she blackmailed him into marrying her, broke last week right in the middle of San Diego Comic-Con. Biel was at the event promoting Total Recall, and said she was surprised when fans began talking to her about landing the role. Just a day after it was reported that she was in the film, Biel said, "I don't know anything about it," then clarified that it was simply premature to say anything definite. Looks like she was right.

Unless she wasn't, and the sources are wrong, and tomorrow we'll hear that she's taken the role. At this point, it's a bit hard to tell, but we're leaning toward the side of a Biel-less Wolverine.

So now that Biel's out as Viper (or not), who's in? Which actress would you like to see fill the role?
