The Rock responds to all those Lobo movie rumors

The rumors have been swirling for a while now that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson could be in line to play DC's antihero Lobo—and now the action star himself has responded to the buzz.

We'd heard a while back that producer Joel Silver was working on the project, and Brad Peyton has already been tapped to write it.

The casting confirmation comes via Twitter, where the Rock—always the accessible everyman—responded to a follower asking about his long-rumored role as the intergalactic bounty hunter.

Here's his response:

Well, that pretty much clears it up—and tells us a few things about the flick. If they're this far along in casting, it would mean this thing could happen sooner rather than later. Plus, if the Rock is talking this openly about it, he either really wants the role or already has it in the bag.

Do you think the Rock is a good fit for a Lobo movie?
