We don't know about you, but we're always hungry for Jurassic Park IV news—especially since it was revealed that Rise of the Planet of the Apes writers Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver had been tapped to write the fourth entry in the popular dino franchise. And today we've got some more exciting tidbits to share with you.
First off, producer Frank Marshall spoke to Collider about Jurassic Park IV, and he revealed that the plan is to get the film into theaters "within two years" and to release it during the summertime of 2014.
The other exciting bit of news is that Marshall confirmed that Jurassic Park IV will indeed be a sequel and not a reboot/remake.
Do you think we'll get to see Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum reprise their characters for this one? Or would you rather see a brand-new set of characters tackle the dinosaurs of Isla Nublar and Isla Sorna?
But we digress.
Frank Marshall also discussed the many developments in technology that have made some gigantic leaps ever since the first movie came out in 1993:
"That's what's gonna be great about it, technology's taken a leap now that we can really do some great things."
So with Jaffa and Silver on writing duties, and the awesome leap in technologies that have happened in leaps and bounds ever since the very first Jurassic Park was released back in 1993, we've a feeling that this new entry into the franchise should be able to kick some awesome dino ass.
Here's looking forward to summer 2014! What do you think of this news?
