Look who Game of Thrones may have cast as S3's new psycho villain

Despite the massive casting announcements made during the Game of Thrones Comic-Con panel over a week ago, a few character names remained conspicuously absent from the list—namely Mance Rayder ("The King Beyond the Wall") and everyone's favorite psycho villain bastard we love to hate (other than Joffrey, that is), Ramsay Snow.

Today, we've learned WHO may have just been cast as the one called the "Bastard of Bolton."

*spoilers ahead*

The actor chosen to play the sadistic, creepy and cunning bastard son of Roose Bolton (Michael McElhatton) is none other than Misfits actor Iwan Rheon, who has been a fan favorite for the role for quite some time now (along with actor Cillian Murphy).

Believe us when we say that Ramsay Snow will make King Joffrey (Jack Gleeson) almost look like a school boy in comparison. Almost ...

HBO has not yet confirmed Rheon was indeed playing Snow, simply calling his character "Boy"—but all signs point to him being Ramsay Snow (helped along by this little Facebook pic)

The age and look of the actor fits in nicely with the age and look of the character, who was mentioned quite a few times by his daddy Roose over the run of season two.

The as-of-yet-unseen character was ultimately sent by Robb Stark (Richard Madden) and Roose Bolton to retake Winterfell from Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen). Though it differs from the books (Ramsay Snow appeared in book 2, A Clash of Kings), we're rather excited to see how this will all play out during season three.

A Tumblr blogger (the page has since been removed) was on set a few days ago and watched a scene involving Iwan Rheon.

The link apparently contained a few spoilers for his character as well as another major one, but most importantly, it confirmed that Rheon's character of "Boy" (as it is written on Iwan Rheon's CV) is indeed Ramsay Snow, apparently based on the character's action in that scene.

For those who've seen Misfits (and those who haven't), Iwan Rheon played Simon, an introvert character who gained the power to become invisible during a freak storm accident. While at first quite creepy (Rheon can do creepy really, really well, so extra bonus points for him if indeed he is playing Ramsay Snow) Simon ultimately became one of the show's most fascinating characters and turned into quite a tragic hero.

We don't know about you, but this is certainly one of the most exciting potential pieces of Game of Thrones casting news since, well, since lemon cakes and Dame Diana Rigg.

Are you guys excited that Iwan Rheon may be playing the sadistic Ramsay Snow?
