Joss Whedon's Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog is coming to The CW

It may have started as an online experiment four years ago, but Joss Whedon's awesomely quirky web musical Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog is about to go old-school media—Captain Hammer & Co. are coming to The CW.

Whedon revealed at Comic-Con this weekend that the network has picked up the air rights to the three-part musical about a wanna-be evildoer, and he expects it to air in the near future.

Created during the 2008 writers' strike, when Whedon was still "that guy who made Buffy and Firefly," the eventual Avengers director got some pals together to produce his little pet project. It was released online in three parts, starring Neil Patrick Harris, Nathan Fillion and Felicia Day.

We're not sure when it will air, but we're definitely excited to see Dr. Horrible on the small screen.
