Disturbing (and possibly NSFW) trailer for Cronenberg's Cosmopolis

Robert Pattinson's last outing as sparkly vamp Edward Cullen hasn't hit theaters yet, but he's already trying to get the Twilight out of his system with more intense projects like David Cronenberg's Cosmopolis. And by the looks of this awesome new trailer, it seems to be working.

Pattinson stars in the adaptation of the Don DeLillo novel as disillusioned young billionaire Eric Packer, who climbs into his futuristic limo for a trip across Manhattan and ends up having a very wild ride. It's not hardcore sci-fi or anything, more like a glimpse of a near-future we might not want to live in, but it's Cronenberg, and it definitely looks like one badass trip.

Check out the trailer below (it's not red-banded, but it is rather dark, and has minor sexual content, so maybe make sure no one's looking over your shoulder). The flick also stars Jay Baruchel, Juliette Binoche, Paul Giamatti, Samantha Morton and Kevin Durand, and opens in select theaters in the U.S. on Aug. 17.
