Del Toro reveals the latest on that Hulk TV series

We've been hearing about Guillermo Del Toro's new Hulk TV series for a while, and the director has now offered an update on how close this thing is to finding the small screen.

Del Toro told MTV he recently met with Marvel about the pilot, which would likely be set outside the Marvel Cinematic Universe:

"I have had a couple of minutes with Marvel since Avengers, and they have the screenplay. We're waiting for a particular writer to do a rewrite on the pilot. That's where we are right now. But we're still on."

He also praised Joss Whedon's effort with the mega-hit Avengers, and one would have to think the Marvel buzz still coming off that flick can only help get a weekly Hulk series off the ground:

"I think Avengers is beautiful because you give a movie like that—that size, that scope—to a guy that has the tone and the pulse of those things dead on, and that's beauty or curse, you know?"

What do you think? Would you watch a weekly Hulk series?
