It may have had a relatively short run on the BBC back in the early 1980s, but Blake's 7 was a monster sci-fi hit at the time in England. It's taken a few decades, but it looks like Blake's 7 might finally be coming back to life.
A reboot is being shopped around by Georgeville Television, with Casino Royale director Martin Campbell signed on to put the pieces together. Joe Pokaski (Heroes, CSI) has been tapped to write the pilot.
Set 700 years in the future, the original four-season run followed a small group of rebels battling against the massive Terran Federation, and featured cool tech concepts and some pretty interesting themes for a low-budget sci-fi series.
If handled well, this could potentially fill that Battlestar Galactica-sized void in our hearts, assuming it actually gets picked up.
Interestingly, this isn't the first effort at a remake. British net Sky 1 tried to get one off the ground a few years ago, though it fell apart before making it to air.
