Check out the golden new armor Stark'll be wearing in Iron Man 3

Tony Stark's been a busy guy. He helped save the world in The Avengers, then went right back and started working on a brand-new incarnation of the Iron Man armor. We'll get to see it in action when Iron Man 3 hits theaters, but for now, take a look at Iron Man Mark VIII direct from the San Diego Comic-Con floor.

The new armor hit the Comic-Con exhibit floor Saturday against a backdrop of all seven previous incarnations of the suit. Word is those lucky enough to get into the Marvel panel in Hall H later today will get more peeks at the next Iron Man flick (and other things), but in case you didn't notice, there's a bit of a line.

Still, that doesn't stop us from gawking at the suit here and now. Here's a close-up that reveals just how much red got sacrificed for gold this time around.

So what do you think? Is this the new gold standard (sorry, that joke had to be made) in Iron Man tech, or do you want to skip ahead straight to the Mark IX?
