Absorb the mind-expanding Cloud Atlas trailer with rare Wachowski commentary

Are you still dizzy from the trippy first look at Cloud Atlas last week? Here's something to bring you back to earth. Lana and Andy join director Tom Tykwer in a little chat to guide you through the maze of motivations responsible for what could be the coolest film of 2012.

It's no secret the source material for the Wachowskis' genre-blending, phantasmagoric adaptation of Tom Mitchell's 2004 novel, Cloud Atlas , is a labyrinth of entwined timelines and story threads. To answer why the three filmmakers chose this impossible task and released a really, really long trailer, they've filmed this rare short interview, resulting in that oddest of media forms ... the loopy trailer commentary.

Watch the original 6-minute trailer again, then hear the talented trio talk shop.

Well, that clears up a few things. Except why Lana is wearing neon pink dreadlocks?

Addicted to the visual orgasm of the extended trailer? You won't have to wait long for a fix. Starring Tom Hanks and Halle Berry, Cloud Atlas storms into theaters Oct. 26.
